Hi! We are Kristel and John Knaus!

Our journey to cognitive therapy and brain coaching began while homeschooling our own children who struggled with multiple learning disabilities and challenges. After working through several reading, math, handwriting, spelling, and dyslexia programs, we came across Equipping Minds and discovered hope that unlocked our children’s God-given potential!

Offering other families that same hope became our passion, and in 2016 Kristel began working with students. their families, and adult learners through the Equipping Minds program. John followed shortly thereafter while teaching middle school and high school students and observing their struggle with academics, social interaction, behaviors, and executive functioning.

In addition to holding Equipping Minds Level certification, we are also trained and certified in the following: Integrated Learning Strategies Retained Primitive Reflexes, Phono-Graphix, Solve Learning Disabilities - Dyslexia, The Listening Program, Visualizing and Verbalizing, Brain Advancement Coach Training, and Brain Based Learning Strategies.

With this program, we have seen people improve their memory, reading skills, comprehension, math ability, executive functioning, focus, music skills, and processing speed. They have gained independence, are able to participate in conversations and family games with confidence, follow multi-step instructions, and the list goes on. Equipping Minds focuses on developing the underlying cognitive functions necessary for so many skills.

It is our joy to welcome adult learners, students, and their families into our home as we journey together toward a stronger sense of self and confident cognition.
